As my 500s has been returned for repairs, Can anyone advise which is the most idiot proof image to load, with cams already loaded?

And can I FTP Zipped files or folders into 500s or do you have to load each file seperately.

I am trying to be prepared for its return..

do you mean to d/l via the internet ?

Yes. You either load them with DCC or FTP them to /tmp and do a manual install. There are non loaded by default.

With cams pre-installed try 1.08

You can download images from various key websites with keys and cams loaded. They are usually uploaded there by hobbists adding their own touches to the image. Different skins a range of cams loaded games etc. Make sure if your loading into flash that you have enough room for it. Ideally for usb. Do a virus scan on them before unzipping. Done one the other day (Gemeni 2.4) must say it was very good.

Many thanks I will try Gemini 1.08 first It has to be easier with cams pre loaded.

But can I ftp cams or keys in zipped form into db. or can the whole folder be ftp'd in one go.

If you download a zipped key file, unzip it locally (i.e. on your PC).

Then FTP the keys directly into var/keys or var/scce depending on your emu.
