sorry for late reply ya its possible to watch free to air channels in any firmware . no need to change sofware . sorry but its my bussines we cant share here

There are 2 capacitors of 1000uf/10v. Both may not e faulty but just in case change them both to 16v or 25v.
You can open the decoder and easily unplug the power supply board and take it to a local electrician.

hi, im from bombay, india....
thers a problem with my dish tv stb ( zenega cd 1004is)
at the moment its flashing a very dim yellow/orange light continuously for the past 1-2 days. its blank on the tv screen-no dish tv channels or anything for that matter-totally blank.
what can i do to fix this?
why is this happening ?
i think a couple of nights ago there was a power failure in my locality.
PLS HELP !!!

Thanks Guys. The DishTV support was giving me the BS about software update. Your thread lead me to the correct solution and I got my STB fixed at a local electronics shop in 10 minutes. He changed the two condensers, I guess they had flunked when there was a sudden voltage fluctuation.
The electrician said, he has put 2 condensers of 16v. Thanks a lot.

no needs to change power supply.only change power supply filter cap.25v 1000mf.[]

you do not need any hardware modification. All u need to do is to re-orient dish to insat4 for ur geographic location. I have done it for Baroda. Very small change in angle was needed and just keep watching on tv while realigning the programs u get. All DDplus DTH channels are received in good quality.

all u need is to realign,slight -less than 1dgree-moving disch in right direction will connect ur dish to insat4 which will download all DDplus DTH channels.

first remove dish in put cables then power switch turn on start channel 115 (free of air number) then connect to in put cable

It starts with very dim and fast blinking orange light, slows down after sometime and and finally ends up with proper green light. This complete process takes about 5-10 minutes, which is quite frustrating. I consulted the experts and they advised me to re-install the software/firmware.
Can anyone help me with it? Is it possible doing it at home and how can we do it step by step.

Hi There,

I am using the dish tv setup box.
it initially start blinking a light orange and green light..and continues the whole time..
the tv screen remains blank.
its not working for almost a month now, but suddendly a day beofre it worked for one complete day and again went off.
I asked here at the local electrical shop if they could fix it, they are not able to do so, i cannot find a dish tv supplier here to fix it.
can i fix it myself???
