Diablo Light+CAS3+ User Manual

Hi All. I have just purchased a Diablo Light CAM along with a CAS3+ programmer, but it didn't have any User manual or software included in the pack. Is this correct? I can't see any referance to a manual on Duolab's site, just a manual for the wireless version which doesn't seem very relevant. I have downloaded CAS Studio 8.6b from their site and loaded that. I can interrogate the CAM with this but I cannot work out what to do next. There is an option to format the CAM but I havn't done this in case I wipe something important. Should I? I intend to use the CAM in my old Echostar AD300IP and it is recognised by the reciever. Is the cam pre-programmed for any services and if so which. I can receive most satellites from Turksat to Hispasat.

Hi DorsetBoB. Unfortunately the Duolabs website has removed the download for the CAS3 manual although the option appears to be there nothing seems available in any language. Should I have received a manual with the Hardware?

You should have received a disc with everything on it.
I think there must be a problem with duolabs web site.
I tried the links earlier this morning and they worked.
All I can suggest is to keep trying them.
I'm sure that the web page will be up and running soon!

The first thing you have to do is download the Cas Studio software, for your Cas programmer, which is needed to program a Diablo Cam:

Do not connect your Cas programmer until after you have installed the drivers, it makes it easier for your computer to install them.

Once they are installed connect your Cas programmer to your computer using just the USB cable, this is all you require.

Next you need to download the latest Underworld file, this is currently underworld 153, if you type underworld153 into any search engine you should quickly find it. You will probably need winzip, winrar, or 7-zip to uncompress the file before you can use it. Also download the latest Diablo Keys bin file to your desktop.

Copy underworld153.dup to your computer desktop, as it makes it easier to find for programming.

Programming the Diablo is quite easy:
Insert your Cam carefully into the Cas programmer.
Start up the CIS 8.6b software, you should have a shortcut icon on your desktop.
Click on the Cam Module tab, and the 2 Diablo Cam icons, this starts up the Diablo software.
It should automatically be set to the Upgrade Cam tab.
Click on the little icon, with 3 dots, at the end of the File Name: address bar.
Navigate to your desktop, underworld153.dup and click open.
A green light should now appear on the Start Update icon, click this and wait for the Cam to finish programming.

To get Digi TV you will need to update the keys, the easiest way to do this is by loading the latest Diablo keys bin file, which you should find at the same place you located underworld 153.

Click th Cam File System tab and click Connect.
In the right hand pane you should now see all the files currently loaded on your Diablo cam, including data bin and keys bin files.
In the lower left pane locate the newly downloaded keys bin file, highlight it, and click the green arrow pointing right.
Click yes to overwrite the old file and it should complete in seconds.

Once complete click the yellow Exit icon, this will bring you back to CIS 8.6b.
You now need to adjust the configuration settings.
Click on the Utilities tab, and the Common Interface Host icon.
You should now see underworld 153 displayed, click enter.
Enter the Configuration folder and change the following:
Emulators to ON.
Emulators priority to 1 Emu 2 Card.

Your Cam should now work.

Hi Mickha. Many thanks for that detailed reply. I think I have followed it sucessfully and I now need to see what I can receive. In the CAM menu on the Echostar it lists the various CAMs the Diablo can emulate but thy are all turned off. Do I need to turn one on before trying an applicable source or does the Diablo Auto-Detect?

Everything should be automatically set in the Diablo Cam after formatting and loading the underworld file, the only thing that needs changing is to turn Emulators ON in the configuration menu.
The 3 main packages open are DigitAlb 16E, Canal Digital 1W, and Digi TV 1W, for Digi TV you do need to update the keys bin file, or manually update the keys.

Underworld 154 is now available which has a fix for the Sex View channels on 13E as well as a fix for subscription cards.

There a Spice on Digi TV along with Playboy and other channels that show Porn movies after cetain hours, including a music channel and TV 1000.
Similar on Canal Digital, Canal 69, Adult Channel, Blue Hustler and other channels, but only at certain times.

I'm newbie too. Yesterday i get the cam with cas interface 3 +. On cam is written on backside "hardware rev/ 2.3". Anyway the program says that i should upgrade to 2.3 and should pay 30 € is it correct.

I programmed the CAM as mickha has described, but it will not open any channel? I have receiver Samsung DSR 9500 AY.

With this programmer i tried to program Dragon cam too, but no success neither with Draconloader card. Could it be sobething missing from windows XP?

Which channels are you trying to open?
The only packages, currently available, are Canal Digital and Digi TV both on 1 West.
You can open DigitAlb, 16E, but this requires loading the latest data bin file, as DigitAlb have been changing keys more frequently lately.

good news for digi tv,nagra 3 postponed till autumn 2009
