Channel Master 1.0m v 1.2m

After getting all the bits I needed together I have finally got round to setting up my Channel Master 1.2m. It is on a fixed azel mount on a 3" pole NPRM placed on the ground and will be used solely for 7W. I have not permanently fixed the NPRM as I am looking for the best place to site it out of view, when I have I will fix through the NPRM into the concrete path on one side of my house.

I am using an Inverto black ultra single lnb on the 1.2m, my motorised 1.0m also has an ibu, but it is a quad. I set up a temporary lead for the 1.2 to see what results I was getting off of 7W. Conditions were clear, sunny and still. My Dr F15 was showing 11.0 / 11.1dB on Qatar TV HD on 10719 V 27500 with the 1.2m. When I swapped over to the 1.0m I was getting 9.0/9.1 dB on the same program/transponder. I might be able to eek out a bit more when I do the final install and fix everything down more securely. Overall I am very happy with the improvement in signal reception, I can see it will be worth the effort I hope it will be enough to counter the effects of rainy/cloudy weather.

Will do, I intend to do a full blindscan of 7W with the Dr F15 with both dishes when I am finished. It will be interesting to see what, if any, differences there are with the increase in signal reception. I shall, in due course, do a comparison with my other boxes as well.

Definitely not a 'surprise', I knew I would get better reception with the larger dish. I just thought someone would like to know exactly what difference you would get on a like for like basis.

And after all that you can tell exact difference between performance of 1m and 1,2m dishes?! And what is exact difference than? Can you give answer in %%, dB or "times"? I do not think so. No, it wasn't a "definitive test", did I state that it was? and I could've uploaded screenshots of the 80 or so tp's on this bird or hundreds of programmes to show more evidence of the differences, state BER, S/N ratio etc., but I deemed it unnecessary. The object was to let people know what I was getting with these two setups. Both dishes have been setup with a professional meter, I'm confident that there isn't any more you could squeeze out of the 1.0m dish and it tracks the arc as near as perfect, but, as I said, I might be able to get a bit more out of the 1.2!

Comon, nothing and nobody is perfect! And, moreover, did you check whether LNBs were located in focuses of your antennas?
Sorry for all that. I see there is difference between 1m and 1,2m dishes , and there is consequent difference in their performance.
However, I personally do not know what is exact difference in performance of those dishes! Of course, it is possible to calculate difference between surfaces, but that will not be difference in performance. Hope you understand my worries.

Can you receive Qatar TV HD on 10719 V 27500. If you can what is signal level?
That is frequency Riverblue made comparison of his 1m and 1,2m antennas.

Just checked my 1.0m against your list Chris and I'm getting some variations.

12149 V 27500 5.9dB > 5.1 for you
12227 H 27500 6.2dB > 5.1 for you
12476 V 27500 8.7 > 4.0 for you

All of the other readings are bigger on your list, generally by 1/1.5dB but about 8 where there is only 0.2/0.3 difference!

My tbs card is not as good as it used to be. I do get the 10719 v but it's on a tm5302 that gives an 82% signal.

I have just scanned again rolling back the driver.
