Thanks again for your time. Its all a learning curve I suppose, from my original problem of the incorrect skew using an analog meter !!! the only thing I can come up with is the LNB .... any sugestions as to a decent LNB ? or how to choose one ?

No nothing at all , the most hi tec i got is a DVD player !!! I would expect to pick up the transponders even on a 60-70cm dish after checking eutlsat website!! even borrowed another reciever !! no joy ! and given the strenth and quality, (and i know the reciever meters are not accurate...

the reciever is a fs 4300 the lnb is a metronic universal . from a kit .on the box is freq 10.70-12.75 LO freq 9.75/10.6 ghz i am in southern spain and i understand the dish size problem. i would expect to pick up astra south beams which I seem to be doing and some channels from eurobird 1...

Hi can anyone suggest a generic sat reciever, HD that will recieve all the free channels inc the HD ones and also with a cam / slot that will accept my sky card, so I can also recieve my Sky channels etc and which cam if required that will accept the card. thanks

This may sound a strange question but here goes... If I had a HD sat reciever picked up for example ITV HD could I then watch it on a standard TV or has it got to be HD tv. I dont mean watch it in HD, I know SD tv's cant show HD. but will the reciever output via the RF in SD as well as output...
