My receiver is a Technomate 5200 so FTA only - no card or CAM slots. I can't comment on dish sizes since I'm not an installer but I guess it's a case of rain margin being key - a 1m may get you the channels in clear and maybe even cloudy weather but if it starts to rain, signal levels will drop...
The signal quality I quoted was for the transponder with CT24 on it (12525V). Ocko TV is coming in loud and clear with 98% signal quality on 10862H so that particular one should even be fine on a 60cm. I can't find CRW on any lists for 23.5E?
That transponder is unusual - I am supposedly out of coverage up here but still get 60-62% signal quality (albeit in clear skies so not much rain margin I guess) and good reception with a TD-110 :) Therefore, I'd expect a good quality 1m would be fine in the SE in almost all weathers.
It's been active again these past couple of days and indeed is active again now - shots of a city centre, zooming into a football match (do insurgents play football - might explain a lot about Arsenal this season ;)) and also accidentally gave away the aircraft serial number - I won't post it...
Do we think this is Afghanistan they're doing surveillance over this time rather than Kosovo? So the KFOR name is a misnomer this time? They seem very interested in some farm buildings right now - been looking at them for at least 10 minutes or so now!
Aren't those channels though? I know there's around 40 analogue channels on 19.2E, a couple on 13E and a small handful of French channels on 5W but I meant feeds as in feeds for broadcasters rather than channels.
I wonder if any satellites broadcast any feeds in analogue these days? I know that no satellite publicises that they broadcast any feeds in analogue but do any sats carry "hidden" analogue feeds, particularly feeds destined for the US? What got me thinking of this was someone in Afghanistan who...
One other thing I've also noticed, if I hit Goto Reference in my Technomate, the signals in the menu (i.e. before I leave Motorised Settings) show a lower signal strength on Thor than normal - it's almost as if Thor is ever so slightly west of reference as hitting Move West 2-3 times gets me...
Inverto's seem to be decent too but if you want the absolute best LNB for your dish, you might have to try a few or see what results others have had with the same dish on the weakest channels ;)
That is true but I'll not be fabulously pleased about backlash on such a new motor :( No way it can be adjusted either as it had to be installed by someone due to it being above first floor height due to nearby buildings and other obstructions :(
I have a 1m dish attached to a SG-2100a that was installed around a month ago. The pole is dead straight and whilst the whole thing works fine, I have noticed a curious issue in that if I approach satellites up to and including 1W from the east then I get better signal if I approach from a...
