A tricky question Lux, who knows, but I would err on the cautious side and wait till after winter before you spend on a new dish. I would also like to know what the future holds, but looking back a few months, things looked bleak. What interests me is what has changed to bring the signal back to us?

Good luck with your bloke Curly. My reception has improved again since that last report, we are almost back to normal in good weather, I'm thinking a 1.5 with feedhorn is going to be enough to get all channels in all weathers. Let us know how you get on.

Could it be that we are on the edge of a null and we drift in and out of it several times a day? Or is it due to atmospherics, and a bigger dish will overcome our problems? My thoughts are that we just need bigger dishes, but is it possible to measure what is going on somehow?

Is it not the case that the bigger the dish, the more directional it is?

I have a better signal this morning here in Tuscany, all channels except Ch5 OK, including BBC news HD. Has 2E been nudged over a bit or is it weather related? Any guesses?

Hi Curly, No is the short answer, I seem to get more with my 1.25 than others with 1.2. I have considered a 1.5 but I feel it wont give us what we want, especially if the signal is antenuated a bit later on like it was with 2F. Was the report in Parma by ssdouble by any chance? I am going to...

Here in Lunigiana Northern Tuscany all BBC channels lost with 120 Fracarro dish, Opticum quad LNB and Humax HD Foxsat.

Maybe with all this talk of radio the title should be changed to Transmits ;-)

Hi st1, You ask whats the point? My reason is that I have someone keen to see Cbb on Ch5, but I cant get it here in Tuscany, but Denis1501 gave me the heads up that he could get it, all be it on Sky, so hence this off topic chase. Thanks for your input, I will keep experimenting and report back...
