It's a 20 year old "very well made" Algarsat prime focus with a Mirage C120 LNB (was known as a good fringe performer back in the early naughties, it's about7 years old).
I'll be interested to hear if anyone manages to get anything special with a 2m dish with finely tuned dish/skew alignment here as I have a horrible feeling we will be losing all the BBC's in May when 2E arrives if 2F is anything to go by.
Just a quickie..I lost C4HD but still get all the C4SD and I lost all C5. Only loss is C4HD really, was nice to watch "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" without the leaves looking wierd !
Thanks Mr.Hoover, it is a damn sturdy dish with no flex at all. I've seen the versions with the petals around, usually unused, I'll try and remember where and offer the owner a beer for 1 !!
I had a look at the site; the dish is similar but has written on it "Algarsat". It's about 20 years old (I inherited it 10 years ago). Here's a couple of photos. It's actually 202 cm rim to rim. It was a polar mount dish but as I've only ever had it pointed at 28E I welded extra supports on it...
Weren't there a whole load of other BBC channels on 1N though? The SES message says all BBC channels have migrated. I'm still getting all BBC channels here in Portugal.
Hi, long time lurker here. I've been avidly following this thread but I still find it confusing. I currently get all the Freesat BBC/ITV/C4&5 channels with my 2m Fibreglass prime focus dish. Are we expecting all the other BBC channels to move over to Astra 2F or just these new regional BBC1HD...
