Hi,
I bought a cascadable multiswitch with 4 satellite/1Terrestrial inputs and 8 outputs
(will use 4 quattro LNBs/sat dish + Terrestrial antenna as input).
There will be some 11 or 12 wall outlets i.e. 2 cascades.
I feel I understand the business around the multiswitch but have been awakened...
My questions are associated with earthing/protection from thunder,
so I'll sneak them in here:
I'm a bit confused by what I see on the web as far as earthing/protection
is concerned. When I go to a U.S. web site, the usual practice as I understand
it is to connect
(a)the dish and what it is...
I also felt inside the balcony would be best because of protection from northerly wind and ease of access
but wanted to hear opinions.
About earthing , is there any thing more I should do than pull an earth lead down from the
roof and connect it to the mast/dish/cable earthing ?
Just when I thought I had gotten all info I needed for buying and
mounting the dish/4 quattro lnb's (16 coax cables), I started further
considering earthing and mounting locations, so I'm back to square
one.
The dish which will be used will be between 110cm and 125cm.
There can be very strong...
Hi,

Hi,
your input is very much appreciated !!!- I can see that I will now
be able to solve this - just a few more clarifications please:
(a)The ABS plastic pipe - in which branch of industry is it best to look for this type of pipe ?
(b)There is a mention of shading the multiswitch, so I presume...
Hi,
I'm planning a 4 quattro lnb -> multiswitch setup and
unfortunattely due to my electrician's good installation of conduit,
5m of the 16 coax cables will be outside on the wall.
I would like to both long term protect the cable and make a tidy
installation - is there any piping/conduit...
