Update - well, the nice people at Sky gave me a new black HD box free! Seems to be fine now, although I have only had it in for half a day. However, the "catch up" service doesn't work - I'm guessing because it operates through the house wifi, which will be showing up a Latvian IP number? So BBC...

Aha I only got it a year or so ago. Didn't have an HD TV then (I do now) so would it be easy to get a new HD box?

Aha yes looks like it's one of the affected boxes - version number is 4F2103. The Sky thing says F21s are affected. So I hope they fix it soon :-)

It's been worse on recordings, but affects live TV as well, only slightly less. It's a new (well, one year old or so) Amstrad box - says DV3 on the front

Thanks for that. We have got a bigger dish than we had (1 metre now I think). Until March everything worked perfectly - now it's not. Can you think of a reason for that? Thanks Wombat57
