Sambucus racemosa caprifoliaceaeThanks bim perfect description of this shrub, do you know which variety ( sub species ) it is as the leaves are deeply cut?
Will try to take some cuttings a bit later in the year.
Regards
They look absolutely marvelous. Not really a mushroom but a fungus coltricia perennis. Found in small groups sometimes where there has been a fire. Grows all year, no season for it and inedible. It's rather unusual having extra growths in the centre, normally they are only funnel shaped.Found these mushrooms in the woods the other day in Finland.

I don't think there are any sub species, it could well be a cross with guincho purple hence the slight purpling in the leaves. Looks very nice. Is there other shrubs similar growing in the area or is it just a stand alone? Do the flowers have a slight pink tinge to the outside? Could well have a one off.
Thanks, I said to my mum they looked more like a giant fungus than a mushroom but she said she thought they where the same thing. I was also intrigued by the extra growths. They look absolutely marvelous. Not really a mushroom but a fungus coltricia perennis. Found in small groups sometimes where there has been a fire.
