Connect an ethernet cable from the back of the receiver to a free port on your router?

If you want to use wifi you need to use a wireless adaptor but a direct connection with an Ethernet cable would be more reliable in my opinion.

It's the same thing for what we need

get a cable that will go from the box to the router and you are good to go (make sure it's not a cross over cable though), to make things easy, take an existing cable from a pc/laptop you already use on the internet and plug that into the box

Ethernet cable (sometimes also called a network cable or CAT5) is what you use to connect devices together on your LAN (Local Area Network, ie the network in your home).
