Have you set the offset lnb slightly higher than the 16E lnb? It needs to be about raised about half an inch compared the the other lnb.

I tried that scan, but found no channels. I will send photos tomorrow - my neighbour has been away, and left his van in a position where I could not get to the satellite!

I am beginning to think that the way to get most value from the Vu+ Duo will be to have coax cables going to both tuners (LNB 1, LNB2) with both satellites feeding into each cable, via two diseqc switches at the dish. If this is indeed the ideal arrangement, should I get that setup installed before continuing to resolve my problem of getting channels from only one satellite at a time? (Just as a reminder, I have a 1000mm dish, pointing at 16E, with an offset LNB for 28.2E.)

To get the most, out of your receiver, it would be best to motorize it, so you can get most satellites between 46E to 30W.
If using a fixed dish system then you can use twin LNB's, 2 outputs, and run different cables, to each tuner, each with a separate Diseqc switch, allowing each tuner to receive all the channels independently so that you can record, and view, multiple channels.

In one of your posts, earlier in the thread, you said you were getting channels, from the 28.2E LNB, but now you're not. If the LNB is setup correctly it might just be a faulty Diseqc switch, that's causing the problems.
If possible can you run a cable directly from the 28.2E LNB, to your receiver, then see if you can scan in any channels.
Once you are able to take some pictures, of your dish, and LNB's, please post them.

Hmm.....if your focus is at 16E, I'd say the 28E LNB is far too close to it for a 1m dish. Hazarding a guess you are probably picking up 19E or 23E from the offset one. As Analoguesat said it also needs to be raised a bit too.

Yes, they are too close together for the spread you want.

Yip far too close - almost certainly 23.5E you are picking up. Move it out half the distance of the lnb - & swivel it upwards half an inch or so.. (take the bar off & bend the aluminium *gently* where it comes out from under the central lnb.)

Thanks Analoguesat and others.

As well as doing the mods recommended above, I want to replace the two single lnbs with one quad and one twin. The guy who set up what i have now says that I will need a different bar (one that requires a different dish) in order to get the spread needed for a difference of 12 degrees (16E to 28.2E). But if I am understanding gAnaloguesat correctly, the present bar is more than wide enough. I am assuming Analoguesat is saying that the offset lnb needs to be moved away from the other by about half its own width? Should the bar then be bent to give the offset lnb a higher mounting position, or swivelled, to change the lnb's angle? (I'll add another photo....)DSCF3689.JPG DSCF3688.JPG

To give you an approximate idea...the photo is of my Triax TD88 and the LNB's for 28E and to it's left 39E, a spread of 11 degrees. You may need a little more separation for your setup and yes, the offset LNB will need raising up a little. As with a lot of multisat dishes, the byword is experimentation and compromise.

Here was my old setup, 80cm perforated ISS focused on 13E, the furthest away quad LNB is on 28E bud.

By the way, Thats a half of the two piece Metronic multi LNB kit the cowboys used. He could have easily managed the setup you required if he'd have used the full kit and clamped it on the excess neck of the focal LNB............basically he's dead to me......lol.

You may need to set the email notification up again - we had a nasty server crash over the weekend & one of the databases got scrambled.

We will get you there one way or another - I doid notice too looking at the pics again that the waterproofing of the f-connectors on the lnbs is totally inadequate and the cables will fill with water fairly quickly (been there done that - watched in amazement as several pints of water dribbled out of the coax!!)
