Yes, I've noticed KA signal strengths are well up across the bands this morning.

@VS - try the TFM mux on 21571H if you haven't locked it yet - I'm getting well over 11dB on that carrier ATM.

Managed to lock the TFM mux on the F15 last night ..sadly never exceeded 9.5db
as it peaks for me around midnight ..but it was all to brief ...
out of signal range again with 30 minutes.
My window is very small ..
I'd love to try and and lock it again ...but Carl is locked down due to fairly heavy westerly gusts atm ...so unless the wind drops I aint moving him.
I suspect I will have had another window around noon ...but been and gone.
This mux is right on the edge for me with the XMW at Carls focus..
Rapid drop off E to W of the UK I suspect

Hi all

After a number of attempts to register I'm at last on the forum !
Thanks to Scopus and VS for the heads up on the SL3K , which I'm waiting for , meanwhile I am
scouting around using a mil spec Ka band lnb 20.2 - 21.1

I'm not sure if the SL3K covers this part of the band , but if anyone can check out 20.255 , 20.675 and around 20.725
I'm seeing a pattern of transponders which I suspect is WGS 3 at 11 west carrying mil GBS/DVB packages.
Unable to lock this at present, they appear to be circular polarity.

Historically these packages carry Fox News and CNN plus UAV data/ IPTV feeds

I doubt you can push the SL3 to cover this range John without some tweaking certainly ..
From memory 19700 to 20200 is doable without the SUP2400 ..but local osc would require adjustment ..and not sure just how far it could be shifted.

Thought that might be the case.
SR on the three main tpdrs looks about 45000 and signal levels are good , so
I'll try a couple of different receivers on them.
I need to try the ADX on the system to drop down to around 19500 ish.

Same here VS, I thought mine had gone faulty too, it's been down all day.
Mind you, sometimes this happened on Ku in the past.

Bit further info on the 11/12 west satellite
Freqs now confirmed using the AzMe Satscan [which promply went green screen after the scan :O( ]
20260 Sr 19124 3/4 QPSK
20280 Sr 36620 3/4 QPSK
20800 Sr 36620 3/4 QPSK
...assuming an lnb LO of 19200

This confirms that this is the military satellite USA-211 WGS 3

package.jpg Image: See note below

Getting a bit further using the Rover analyser , still won't read the full stream but
having found the true Lo of the Norsat LNB [ 19250 ] freqs now amended...

20310 Sr 19124 2/3 DVB This will probably be CNN Fox / News and possibly UAV downlinks
20330 Sr 36620 2/3 QPSK ? Theatre data
20850 Sr 36620 2/3 QPSK ? Theatre data

There are also other small SR data links by the looks of it.

The image above is how this data appeared 12 years ago when the GBS package was on the classified UFOSat at 22 west.

John, try some new firmware in the Azbox. I found Open ATV 3.1 the most stable.

There is still an UFO (F7) at about 23 West, with serious inclination of 7° though. Maybe still has such data nowadays?

Indeed ...if you do find any UFO still active carrying video data ...
I will also take a look with the Hughes ...assuming I can access the fequencies of course..
Not having a full Ka band C lnb (milsat) my options are limited.

For those of you who didn't get a chance previously ..
The 2 channel mini mux from Turksat 4a is back on currently ..and at 12+ db
18672L
SR22500
TRT Turk and Tele Sahel

Obviously for best results use the unmodified port of your SL3 ....with Septum still intact ..as this transponder uses circular polarisation.

Here we go again ..
my MK 01 arrived this morning ..
So popped in on Carl just to make sure it was functioning..
A quick scan revealed all the usual peaks H and V mixed ..
Selecting 13v ie V got me slightly more signal than selecting H ....
The Newsroom feed being present at around 8db ...but didn't lock on a blindscan.
Switched it out for the 03 version ..and a blindscan locked the newsroom feed at 9.2db ..along with a few OBs ..
So ..Time to investigate and mod the 01..
Opening it up should be interesting.
