1.I don't know what it means the best when we talk of the two cards,TBS6925 or TBS6983. Both cards know to do the same thing:blindscan,16/32APSK, record stream,MIS,etc ,the only difference is that last can find symbol rate under 200 Msps and has dual tuners,sensitive to weak signal.For now, until CrazyCat will provide support for TBS6983 card, TBS6925 card is valid and it can be used "as if it" would be the best.But better read what I wrote in # 33.
2.Yes, TBS6983 Blindscan find both transponders in 16 and 32 APSK.
3.Also with this card you can scan in C-band.Here are some examples with TBS Blindscan and EBS Pro:

1.If you want to know about the hardware version of TBS6925 card, read this thread at #748.The latest driver version is 1.0.1.23 and download it from here .
2.About the speed of the internet and the net provider I can not you recommend, because I don't know what speed he provide and that the satellite would be suitable for your area.It is true that there are satellites that transmit(only one way),files of all kinds (photo, video, youtube, etc) and you can download them using skygrabber software.It's sort of a passive net.For this you can use any Dvb-S2 card,not only TBS6925 or TBS6983.And looks like this:

Well it appears I do have 2 pcie slots so in theory can mount both my 6925 and the 6983 ...which arrived today.
I've done some slot juggling and got the 6983 in the PC ...but on boot it did not report new hardware found ..
I find that odd ..
Hope it's not a shared slot or somesuch..
Question..
Would the 6983 work with the 6925 drivers..or are they specific ?
Would Crazyscan recognise the card ..eben though it currently cannot use it..?
Is it acceptable to have both cards in the PC or would they conflict ?

Ok set a restore point ...
Always prudent.
Installed the TBS6983 driver from the supplied disc
Running up Crazyscan I see 3 options in hardware ..
The 6925 and 6983 tuner 1 and 6983 tuner 2

Selected tuner 1 ...I get RF scan not supported as has already been posted in this thread by Llew...
So ..which software can the card use ?
There is a version of TBS viewer on the disc ...
I am about to install this.

So TBS viewer is a complete waste of space for me ..
No facility to select diseqc 1.1 switching that I can see ..
TBS blindscan ...the same ..
Cant get it to run with DVBviewer pro either ..
Sees the tuners ..but does sod all with 'em

Looks like it will just sit in the PC indefinately until some 'proper' software becomes available.

VS, I've got Two TBS cards in my PC, TBS 6220 (terrestrial), TBS 6983, and a TBS 5925 USB tuner. All drivers working fine.

The only application that I'm using with the TBS 6983 is EBSPro, as Crazyscan can't be used - yet.

With EBSPro, you can only use BlindScan 2, as the RF Spectrum option is defunct (like Crazyscan)

So the TBS 6983 is limited in what it can do, until programmers like CjCr and Crazycat can manage to break open the front end.

I'm in conversation with CjCr (EBSPro's originator) trying to get the Inverto LNB option in EBSPro to open up to other LNB LO's so we can use our SL3 LNB's (as Crazycat did for you). At present it's greyed out.

Oh, and you can also use TBS Blindscan of course.

Well at least I've seen a picture produced by one of the tuners now ..
It will work with DVBviewer Pro ....with the correct tuner selected ...and the 6925 greyed out/disabled ..
,,and the other neccessity was a reboot after the drivers and TBS blindscan was installed.
TBS viewer is a pile of pants for my system as I can't control my diseqc 1.1 switch ..thus select the relevant lnb on any dish.
ie TBS viewer has no front end switch control other than basic 4 port diseqc switching.

1.Both cards have their own driver,for TBS6925 is v.1.0.1.23 and for TBS6983 is v.1.0.0.4.On my OS under Windows 7 64bit,both drivers were installed without problems and works well.So there is no conflict between them.
2.@Llew reply to other your questions.
3. I must add that all dvb-s2 players(DVBViewer,ProgDVB,Dream DVB,AltDVB,SmartDVB ) works very well with TBT6983 cards.TBSViewer(as other TBS Dvb-S2 players)is a player with limited functions.

So it works well even with softwares that we have now, even partially with Crazyscan and EBS,for which we are waiting until the author will create a new software for TBS6983 card.

switched to blindscan 2 ...

Looking at my past emails for EBSPro, I got a receipt on 13 Jan 2012 at 00:23, and the password arrived at 08:25 same day.
