No, a tad pricey for me, especially as I don't really need another receiver and I don't feed hunt....though I dare say none of us really 'need' another STB.....

Picked up my 2 units when they were $53 CDN which is a joke by today's standards.

I notice the x2 premium 3 is on the company website. I had a look at the manual but does not seem to have a power cable included. Duel core processor and good memory provision but only 5000 channels.

I am sure it will have a power cable you might have to get a 3 pin plug adaptor, I only use mine for scanning so the 5000 memory is not a problem i clear the box memory many times a day.

I've had my x2 premium III for about a month now. It was a bit buggy at first but the x square team has come up with 4 fw upgrades already, awesome support. I admin at a NA site that has the exclusivity to their latest fw releases on my side of the pond. Blind scan is real fast and tuner sensitivity is up there as well. Latest fw update addressed the iptv/internet features and that is now working spot on.
This receiver came equipped with just about everything but the kitchen sink. I'm using it on the tough Atlantic circular sats on my 8' solid and it's solid. I was a bit leery as it is an ali chip receiver and I've tested many of those in the past but this box is by far way superior to all of those. My only issue is the lack of response from the rc unless it's pointed directly at the receiver, not bad for a box that cost me $95 with shipping.

I had this issue with a Dreambox a few years ago. I replaced the IR sensor on the front and it was much better.

Perhaps you can look into doing this too?

Thank you for the information Costactc, I am just going to order one, I am pleased with the X2 a bit buggy in places but I have £300 before on a box that had lots more bugs so I am pleased for the price.

I got my unit on aliexpress for $85 CDN, which would be the equivalent of 47 sterling.

You need to open the receiver and find out what IR sensor you have there. Then find an equivalent and replace.

It may of course be as simple as the IR sensor isn't looking directly out of the receiver but has been bent some way or another. Straightening it out will also improve things.

No they do not clash at all. I have both my x2 and x2 III on my 8' feed.

Where should I be looking for it? The second remote that came with the box is much more responsive but only has a limited amount of functions.

Thanks for comments. The north American forum was helpful. I have ordered one up to play with.

I was thinking about getting an openbox or something similar.
Just had a look at an x2 on amazon .com.
I may go for one of these.

I am thinking about getting a receiver to replace the TM5400 in the front room.It dose not get used much these days.
I have some channels in mind that will interest Mrs Ponti. No lan cable to the front room.So Wifi will be an advantage.
I think that the x 2 has it built in?.Skybox later maybe.:)

I have got my Premium 3 and had a play around with it for a couple of weeks now. Sensitivity is about the same as my Dr.HD d15. The blind scan is very fast and thorough but like all receivers miss an occasional channel.
Part blind scans are not possible on universal lnbs yet so I have had to create a low band and a high band dummy satellite to get round this. Updates to the software are frequent at this stage so hopefully this will be sorted soon.

An unexpected feature is that the receiver found 12718 H on Eutelsat 12 west and managed to list some channels. I can see the logo Marcopolo at the top of the screen on one channel and am getting sound and a broken picture. As this is a multistream transponder I am excited about the potential feature this could mean if improved. The Dr.Hd sees nothing of this.

I will post updates as new software comes out.
