With the same setup, but using an FTA box instead of DB all works as it should.

any comments?

cheers.
It makes no sense as described.
What are symptoms
Do the DB and digibox sit on top of eachother?
Even in standby the digibox is up to all sort of tricks and the tuner is active.
There might be some IF feedback if they are too close. I have had that before.
Do some elimination.
Pull lnb cable out of digibox. No fault? Then trouble is either feeding back up the IF cable or radiated.
Try a splitter to give one feed to DB and slave to digibox. This stops lnb voltage from digibox getting to IF O/P of DB.
If still trouble then its radiated.
Separate the two boxes by as much as you can, preferably metres.
With digibox on and trouble, can you log in to DB, i.e. does processor still work. If not possibly being zapped by a radiating clock crystal in digibox.
