Do the DB and digibox sit on top of eachother?
Even in standby the digibox is up to all sort of tricks and the tuner is active.
There might be some IF feedback if they are too close. I have had that before.
Do some elimination.
Pull lnb cable out of digibox. No fault? Then trouble is either feeding back up the IF cable or radiated.
Try a splitter to give one feed to DB and slave to digibox. This stops lnb voltage from digibox getting to IF O/P of DB.
If still trouble then its radiated.
Separate the two boxes by as much as you can, preferably metres.
With digibox on and trouble, can you log in to DB, i.e. does processor still work. If not possibly being zapped by a radiating clock crystal in digibox. |
Last year i removed my S*y dish off the wall and ran a cable from my Tecnomate loop through to the digibox. What happened after a while was that the digibox just froze. It said no satellite signal been received. I knew there was a signal there ,as i was on 28e on the tecnomate. I removed the technomate cable, so the one coming from the dish went straight into the digibox and still the same message came up, no satellite signal been received. I rebooted the digibox, checked signal on menu done almost everything with it and still no joy. Thought it was knackered. So i put back up the sk* dish and low and behold Searching for listings came up and then i knew it was ok. So i put back
the technomate cable again, just to see if it would happen again and it did about a week later. So now it just back in the S*y dish again. Dont think the digibox likes to be messed around with, Or maybe it just likes its own lnb.
