I have sent off to Microsoft for the CD, but as Jimbo points out it can take 4-6 weeks.
This problem started after I downloaded a program for downloading music, video etc, and it has replaced something on SP2, which switches the download off after about five minutes which makes life a little difficult.
If someone ever needs to repair SP2 you will need the CD. On my PC I just followed the "Delete" program and you are given the choice delete or repair, but then you must insert the SP2 CD.
What happens then I will let you know, when I get Polomint's CD. |
i would like to make a quick suggestion if using XP SP2 i would turn off system restore as good old MS forgot to mention that the $WINDOWS$ ini temp folder when installing is in conflict with the system restore ini. if anyone has a problem on a repair email me i have tools on disk allowing you to repair alot better from the disk you boot from cd to it then lets you disable all services then you can repair or uninstall SP2 alot safer we have to do this at lots of various clients premises as they upgraded and shot themselves in foot. If you are still unsure about SP2 email me your machine specs and progs you have and i can let you know how to get best results from if poss.
