My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser. | There are a couple of services on Astra 19.2 and I believe that there may also be one on 28.2.
Having taken this route in the past, it really is only to be used as a last resort, two way is too expensive and downlink only, still requires a terrestrial ISP with an anytime connection. It is no good for gaming, as the lag is 300ms plus and is subject to similar congestion as the regular internet.
Add all of this to the download restrictions and the problems caused by using VPNs with some of the services and it really doesn't make it too worthwhile. |
