I think that people having problems with Muslim or any other ethnic/language specific station in a satellite forum is a bit funny. Most of us have motors and dishes and we get a zillion stations from all over the place, so a Muslim station is nota problem. You don't want to watch it? Use the remote. After all there are black channels, religious channels, Welch channels, and god knows what else.
The question of integration of immigrant communities in their new country is something different though, but has nothing to do with radio or TV.
I for one love to watch good quality foreign movies with subtitles, be it from China, Japan Asia or whatever, and I feel there should be more of these so maybe there will be a bit more understanding between cultures.
And finally: I know people say that watching TV is not good for kids, but since I left the UK to Germany my kids watch UK TV, the reason is that I don't want them to forget the language, and it works. Same as when we were in the UK we spoke German at home. So ther eis some benefit of having Sesame street in Arabic, Hindu and Swahili ....
