My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | As Jimbo says, you can always put it on a pole at the back. 1 West is the highest elevation of all the sats from most of mainland UK at 30 degrees for the south, so you only need to set it high enough to clear the highest point of the roof in the line of sight.
If you have a fairly standard pitch on the roof, this will probably be less than 45 degrees and you will be addressing it at an angle, so may get away with a couple of feet above the gutter.
