A Patch is modified firmware which incorporates a built in emulator and allows keys to be changed with the receiver remote control and thus decrypts certain channels.
Being from the USA FTA probably means something different to you. Here in Europe FTA means free to air, in other words channels that are not encrypted.
The patches are specifically written for a make of receiver not the other way round. |
