Firefly is a cynical, sarcastic dictator who refuses to play politics by the book. For instance, he does reduce workers' hours~~by shortening their lunch breaks! Firefly attempts to win the hand of Mrs. Teasdale, as does Ambassador Trentino of the neighboring country, Sylvania. When the two leaders cannot resolve their dispute over the wealthy dowager, war between the countries is declared, and Mrs. Teasdale's house comes under attack. Who will save the day?

There's a humorous but slight role for Charles Hawtrey suffering from a sympathetic pregnancy and the film closes with the patients revenge on Dr. Tinkle and the formidable Matron because of their conspiracy against Dr. Kilmore.

Two hundred and fifty years in the future, life as we know it is threatened by the arrival of Evil. She is helped by ex-soldier, current-cab-driver, Korben Dallas (played by Bruce Willis), who is, in turn, helped by Prince/Arsenio clone, Ruby Rhod. Unfortunately, Evil is being assisted by Mr. Zorg (Gary Oldman), who seeks to profit from the chaos that Evil will bring, and his alien mercenaries.
