If you buy a card NOW, then you might take a risk that it will not work when they switch on the new encryption system (NDS?) and switch off the current Nagra.
My advice is to wait few more months until the new cards are available outside Germany (or if you happen to have really good friends in Germany, then they might be able to help you)
With NDS, they might marry the card to their box so the Technomate might not open a legitimate NDS card.
