In the meantime I've executed the command to restart vsftpd and it seemed to suggest it's started ok but no process appears in the system process info section ( perhaps not surprisingly the box still isn't responding )
Thought I'd try remotely copying a file using the box IP address, being Unix to Unix thought it would be fairly easy. Managed it eventually after creating root password on the box. |
