Many thanks for all the suggestions. Here is what I ended up doing:
I replaced the LNB with a dual one, got rid of the splitter.
I connected diseqc motor to dreambox, and the old FTA receiver straight to the other leg of the LNB.. Now the old FTA is kinda slave to dreambox
it cannot turn the satellite back.. No problem! It works!
