Cancellara cracked on the mountain with about 5km to go.
Cadel Evans launched an attack with 1.6km to go but Contador and Armstrong kept on his wheel. Contador attacked with less than 1km to go and needs to gain 20 seconds on Armstrong to get the Yellow jersey. Armstrong sits on the wheel of Cadel Evans and doesn't give chase.
Evans tries a breakaway but Armstrong and Bradley Wiggins give chase.
The stage was won by Frenchman Feillu of AGR, followed by the breakaway riders.
