Hello,

I thought I would offer a little review, seeing as I currently have access to about 8 encrypted European adult channels. There doesn't seem to be many such reviews on the net, so if any of you find it useful maybe we could add to and expand it?
I'll keep this reasonably basic and may update or correct it. Feel free to correct me too as I'm not a seasoned expert on these channels and may have missed something. All channels are 24 hours and 'hardcore' uncensored unless specified otherwise.

Blue Movie - Astra 19.2 East. No commercial breaks. No English soundtracks.
1) Blue Movie - heterosexual and lesbian. Nothing extreme but some mildly rough scenes. Vaginal, oral, anal, cum. Picture quality 7/10, ok but pixelation visible.
2) Blue Movie Extra - seems to me to be essentially the same as the above channel in terms of content and quality.
3) Blue Movie Gay - male gay. Variety of ages and scenarios featured. Nothing extreme such as fisting. Anal, oral, cum. Picture quality as above.

Beate-Uhse.tv Astra 19.2 East. Evenings and overnight. Short commercial breaks between films, which sometimes have a plot and narrative. No English soundtracks. Heterosexual and lesbian but not hardcore. From what I have seen, no genitalia are actually shown. Picture quality ok, 7/10.

Dorcel TV - Hotbird 13 East. Short commercial breaks between films. Some English soundtracks. Heterosexual and lesbian. I would say similar to Blue Movie, with a slight overtone of 'classyness' but only slight. Picture quality is the best of the channels I can see, so I give it 9/10.

Free-X Delight, Free-X TV1, Free-X TV2, X-Dream TV - Hotbird 13 East. Short commercial breaks between films.
Heterosexual, occasional lesbian. Mainly English soundtracks and from the USA.
All 4 channels largely the same, featuring mild to medium rough sex. Vaginal, anal (lots of), oral, cum. The women are very much treated like pieces of meat. Slapping, hair pulling, messy vigorous blow jobs and spitting all common. Occasional fetish including fisting, food and piss but very rarely. Picture quality not great but watchable, 5-6/10.

Alpengluhen TVX - Astra 19.2 East. Evenings until late night. Short commercial breaks between films. No English soundtracks. Heterosexual and lesbian but not hardcore. Features mainly semi-vintage or 'playful' European (German?) sex movies with something of a 'charming' and loosely amusing nature. Picture quality ok, 7/10.

That's all I have access to. I for one would appreciate similar reviews of MCT, Sexview, etc.

Just thought i'd contribute my two pence....

I agree with leecovuk on the following channels (All Hotbird),

Free-X Delight, Free-X TV1, Free-X TV2, X-Dream TV
Picture is OK, better than a lot of other channels i've seen. A good variety of material, mainly modern-ish stuff (no more than 5 years old max)

Free-X Delight tends to show the odd classier movie and the slightly less mainstream material (they have an "Arabic Girls" night every Thursday)

Dorcel TV

Definitely more upmarket than the other channels above, very euro-centric. Have the odd gem featuring the likes of Silvia Saints, but mostly modern stuff.

Tends to feature more porn with plots and elaborate sets/costumes (if thats your thing) and they seem to do a lot of theme nights....anybody would think that Katsumi was France's only pornstar ever judging from some of the wall to wall coverage she gets on Dorcel....

In addition:

SexView (Plus, Extra, 24 etc.)

Had these a while back, shortly before they started pushing their Sexview HD channel.... Have to say that based on their non-HD channels I would not touch their HD stuff either.

The basic programming was either bland american early-90's porn, poorly converted NTSC -> PAL format material and dodgy eastern european/russian spanking videos featuring women who I can only presume featured regularly in East European Shot Putters Wives Weekly...avoid like the plague...

Redlight (Mix, USA, German, Italy etc.) (transfering to Eurobird 9 at the end of the year, I believe)

A slight notch above Sexview (and thats not saying much), again like Sexview most of the material is overly compressed (pixlated) and badly converted (lots of people with bright orange/pink skin etc.)

USA seems to be a part time channel, Italy seems to broadcast mainly USA material (but dubbed in Italian - hence the 'Italy'), Mix shows the odd 'Bizarre' film, but its usually hard to work why it's supposed to be a 'mixture' of films (as compared to the other channels)

I would say that German was the best of the package, all of the above apply, but at least they show a lot of german porn (not bad looking ladies either) featuring the likes of Merdian, Silvia Saint and Dolly Buster from their early years (early to mid 90's)


Have just obtained a viewing card for Spice Platinum, so i'll let you know what thats like when i've watched it a bit....

Just a quick update on the previous review.....

Having had the Private Spice card for a couple of months, I have to say that the boat is still out.

For me, the card does not compare favourably with the Inxworld card (reviewed in my previous posting).

On one hand, Spice does seem to have the best picture quality , but not that far ahead of Dorcel TV.

The variety of material is good, covering the mainstream to the fetish. But when pitted against the 5 channel Inxworld card, Spice's variety starts to look less varied - sooner or later that same type of material will crop up on the Inxworld channels.

Again, given it's european background, Spice features a lot of euro-style porn, which for me is a bit of a put off. Lots of beautiful scenery, samey looking euro-girls and almost autocue acting don't really float my boat.

I suppose it's like comparing jazz mags. Spice would be your Playboy to Inxworlds Penthouse. On one hand, Playboy has a bigger budget, an air of class and some top names stripping off.

Penthouse in contrast is the slightly poorer, relative - nice looking girls, a little more down market and the occassional spread by a Page 3 girl.

Personally, i'd go for Penthouse - no pretension, the girls are hot enough for me and they don't go over airbrushing the photos.

So if you are a Playboy kind of guy, then Spice is your man, otherwise I think I will stick to Penthouse ;-)

I might add here that I have recently bought a 12+ SexView card, and I largely agree with your earlier comments.
The picture quality across all channels is variable but not good; kind of like watching a well used VHS tape along with digital artefacts. Yes it's watchable usually, but the worst I have seen in my experience of porn channels.

As for the content, there is of course lots of fairly standard hardcore porn including as DD says, some pretty old stuff, especially on the Gay channel.

Some specialism is on the channels, which loosely stick to the theme of their specific names.
DP = double penetration
TV = ladyboy/transexual
Inter = Inter-racial
Extreme = Large size based porn in various ways

Other fetish is mainly on the Plus and Special channels. I have seen this include pissing (but not on other people which presumably is not allowed), spanking, trampling on men by women, obese people having sex with slimmer people. I personally find some of this quite abusive and uncomfortable to watch but I think it is good they are providing it, even though it is certainly not high production value stuff.

In general, this package has quite good variety although the picture quality is nothing spectacular.
If you just want fairly standard hetero hardcore (although with a bias on 'rough' sex) I would suggest the cheaper InxWorld 5 channel card is better.

nothing spectacular? quality of sexview is very very bad...i bought the card because i had old card four plus(2004+-) but now is shit...
they closed sexview hq,this channel had good quality and 3 new films ...
people buy HD receivers and they dont patient,great mistake

Yes, my use of phrase there could have been better.
I don't want to give the impression though, to people who have not seen it, that it is almost unwatchable ... it is just acceptable enough to not be very annoying, but certainly could be (and probably should be) a lot better.

Its interesting hearing peoples views on the various channels.

I have swapped between Private Spice (or Spice Platinum as it used to be known) and the Sex View channels for a number of years.

I used to enjoy the variety of the Sex view channels but as has been mentioned, the picture quality has deteriorated over the years. Its also annoyed me that they chop the titles and credits off of films.

I have Private Spice at the moment and much as its all slick and well presented, I find it lacks variety. They use one particular director, and every film seems to feature the same people and be shot on some exotic beach in the Caribbean.

This is a nice thread leecovuk.
The quality of most adult channels are just unacceptable, except Private Spice.
When Sex-on-TV started the service, they had a good quality bitrate, but just when I thought about subscribing, they made a mistake of having the channels on two different satellites. To make things worse, they included Redlight in their package. Now their channels bitrate is much lower than what they had initially.
What we really need is a package that has the same quality and variety of the TPS Multivision.
They had a nice trick. MV1 had the newer titles, then MV2 showed the same title next night and MV3 showed it two nights later.
So they gave the illusion that every night there were 3 different channels, but in fact it was the same channel with a time delay.
Should have been MV1, MV1+24, MV1+48
XXL has't been reviewd here, but it seems to be quite popular. Their downside is that they are not 24/7 and they only show one or two titles a night and with many repeats.
I am not optimistic about having a good package anytime in the near future. Certainly no adult HD channels this year.
Perhaps it would be better to buy adult DVD instead. At least you know what you are buying.

Since MCT has moved to eurobird the 9 and become SCT the quality has improved tremendously, and is consistant across the whole of the channels. You can see the quality by viewing Sex Top which is clear in the day. Also has no irritating logos that take up a huge chunk of the screen. High bitrates as well, perhaps someone could do a quick check on them and post back as i don't have a receiver that shows. Much much better than sex view IMO.

I agree the video is sub standard if compared to mainstream big budget services like BBC etc, however if compared to the likes of sex view which runs at about 700k and others i think i have a valid point. Nobody can argue either that the new sct services on eurobird, along with the new satisfaction channels on hotbird are many times better than the previous MCT service.

I wouldn't trust the providers to keep up the same quality for a long time.
Now that they have moved to a new satellite, they want to attract as many subscribers as possible and then they would add more channels and thus reduce the quality. Just like what Sex on TV did.
The only stable subscription with high quality is Private Spice.

Is that correct, are they still chopping the titles and credits? I f*****g hate that!! Why do they do it, to piss us off? Even if the pic quality is rubbish we can use it as a type of rental service, if you see something you really like you can buy the DVD.

My redlight/SOTV card has not long run out and I was thinking of getting a SV card again. I'll have to think hard about it ( get it hard ).

Just a little update on this package;

Sex View Plus is the main 'fetish' channel showing a lot of spanking/mild to moderate whipping, mainly on the backside. Mild to moderate sub/dom stuff on both sexes.

Sex View Special shows pissing now and then, sometimes on faces and in mouths.

Some of the other channels show stuff generally within the theme of their name.
DP = Double Penetration ie vaginal and anal.
Inter = Inter-racial.
Gay = homosexual. I don't recall seeing any fisting or particular fetish except mild to moderate spitting during sex.

Sex View Extreme maybe focuses more on large breasted / fuller figure women. ie I have not seen anything 'extreme' as in the meaning of fetish.

Sex View TV shows mainly transgender/'chicks with dicks' stuff. The channel name may imply it's just a generic channel but it isn't. There's some bisexual stuff as a result of the transgender content.

Sex View 247 is also generically named, but focuses on young women, presumably 'only just turned 18'.

All the others seem to me to be pretty much generic hardcore porn, with occasional vaginal fisting and moderately extreme vaginal/anal stretching shots and insertions.

Feel free to correct me of course, if anyone thinks I've missed something.
