Best advice would be to set the VCR on long play once you feel tired, and then the following morning scan through the eight hours or so of adverts/premium phone numbers and so on whilst jotting down the number of scene changes

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

Long play seems to make the actors look a bit rough.

and the sound track flutter tends to make it more like a porn film than it actually is

but the climaxes last twice as long, so its not all bad
