Total newbie who wants everything XXX

Hi everyone !

Totally new to all this.

Humax IRCI 5400Z (bought for £200 from e-bay seller said it was brand new and fully patched, engineer called it a grey import) believe it has s/w version 1.05.00+ on it. Engineer has setup Astra, Hotbird, Sirius and Hispasat satellites on it. It's motorised with a 1m dish, located in Surrey.

Yes you've guessed it.
What free adult channels can i get with it ?
If the answer to that is "not a lot" then :

What cam should i get for it (if at all)
What card should i get to go with the cam
Is it difficult to programme cards with Hex files, do i need a programmer for my Humax, someone said it has it's own programmer ?

Yes ... there's a lot of questions there, but i'm pleased to help others once i'm knowledgeable myself.

Start off by pointing it to 30 West, some stuff in the clear on low band

The play with TV6 on 5East again low band

No need to play with cards (yet)

I assume 30 west is Hispasat and by clear you mean not encrypted, but whats "on low band" ?? Can you explain that a little further please.

Cheers peeps i'm getting there, found TV6 and Retelsat, main problem is when i try to find channels "Anything on Ku band below 11.700 GHz" i go to a Hispasat channel and then key in lower channels but the damn dish then trundels off to Astra or Hotbird and i have to wait 30 secs for it to get there and then tell it to come back to hispasat and try again, another 30 secs, inevitably for it to repeat the process, if i'm lucky and i have chosen a hispasat channel i then wait god knows how long only for it to tell me its bad or no signal or after that scrambled or encrypted aaargh !
But i will win in the end :-)

Sounds like you have duplicated the position data for more than one satellite

Make sure you have nominated a single position and LNB setting for Hispasat, (rather than the same antenna setting for Astra/Hotbird and Hispasat) and it should all fall into place

What PIDS do you have for Astra 19E for TV6 & Free XTV chaps? it would appear that my firmware gives that rich b***ard Rupert Murdoch priority with his channels on my STB!....every time i change the FEC it automaticaly switches over to beloved Ruperts FEC'S for his lousy channels .........so it looks like i have to put the pids in myself! and see if that works

PCR pid is above the others in the centre of the page.

Also known as NID - one number per bouquet
