Not good heh...What encryption methods will work with the dream m8?

I know conax do as i recently had a digitalb which lasted 12mths..And i know NDS does as me shitanta card has been updating..

If i bought a pci twinhan card with cam interface or similar (for my Media center) .. OR my m8s technomate..would the card update in this ok? then drop it back in my dream?

Cheers

A cheaper solution would be to buy a second hand receiver with embedded Viaccess card slot like Nokia 9800S.
Can't guarantee anything, but would be a good investment.
There was an advert few weeks ago by dvbdream, really cheap.
See if it is still available.

As long as the card is activated in a Viaccess cam and inserted into it periodically it will be OK

If you activate it in the Dreambox you will only get 4 months out of it

Been there, done it, got the 4 month ice scrapper

alright man, i have just read this post about you saying if you activate in a dreambox then you only get 4 months out of it. Is this true or do we have to wait for future updates to a software cam? Somebody said that if you use a red viacess cam then it will update, but you reckon if it was activated in a dreambox then it will not update anymore?

Many cards and my last JSC card showed 3 month intervals between updates so i was thinking maybe it just needs updating some how, or can it no longer be updated now that it got activated in a dreambox? I spoke to a guy the other day who updated some via 3.0 cards in an old software emulator beginning with G but it wasn't JSC. Some new cards have said to be out lately which was a rumor but if it is true then that is the 3rd time in a year JSC cards have been re-issued.

My System: Dreambox 7020Si receiver, PLi image loaded and Irdeto and Viaccess cards installed. Dishes for Nilesat + Hotbird with lnb's for BADR and Eurobird 9

If you can access Nilesat 7W, the JSC channels use a KeyFly CAM without a card.

Check out h**p://www.aljazeeracam.com/en/index.php

I have one in my DB 7020

PS it also supports a number of other encryption modes (irdeto, viaccess etc)
and is useful for updating cards that are usually in the soft slots of my DB.

Can't tell you much about this specific card, but there were many reports about the 2nd shop so be careful about where you shop.
Do a search in the forum.
Can't you buy it from Greece? I believe that there are many satellite shops in your country. Cards in the UK are always more expensive than the rest of Europe.

Try the Al Jezeera call centre on +974 489 7111

Only + 1-4 are available on Nilesat, but +1 -8 are listed on Hotbird, with Viaccess and Irdeto encryption

I heard that that the card can work for both Hotbird and Nilesat. And Nilesat has got all 8 sports.
Also my friend got his jsc sports 1-8 on an ART sports card and receives all the Art sports channels on same card(for hotbird)

Try shutting down the box for 10 minutes and then switch on.
If this doesn't help, look for the validation period in the CAM menu.
Perhaps you need to activate it with the help of the seller.
Which encryption does your card has and does your receiver supports it?
