Later than I thought.

The freeing up of the capacity used by the remaining analogue channels could bring in another 250 - 300 TV/radio services

I still reckon we will see several analogue tp's closed down this year - SES really need the capacity back

I thought all analogue on 19.2e was going to be gone much sooner, still a few years left to go i wonder if my analogue receiver will last that long to see the last channel disapeer...

My System: 1,25 Fibostop Jäger Smr 1224 Dual Axsis Echostar Dvr 7000 Monterey 140 Tagra 2,20 M Fullsize Dish Echostar 2,40m Mesch for cband!

the day, when the last analouge channel will gone,is a very bad day in satelite history!

i watching every day with my montery 140 or drake esr 2000,on my lowe arcada 4:3 screen in my living room and i must say, this picture, looks much bettern, then the todays, compresion of astra digital tv transponders..

the reason why the will switch off is,not only the rapdie sprade of diital setboxes to the households,it also the massive transponder coasts ,that the operators have to pay!

in cband, only on thaicom satelite,if i rememeber right, one analogue channel is left..
the isralis has been switch of on amos..

maybe, then, when all channels are gone,we must move,to the brazil rainforest, then the old days, will coming back

Very true and you have some very good equipment.

+ I've got a question for everyone. If there's (for example) an Astra 7A on 19.2E with 40 transponders at given frequencies w/ digital channels and then Astra 7B is co-positioned on the same position and being a satellite of the same type also has 40 tps AT EXACTLY THE SAME FREQUENCIES as Astra 7A BUT surprise, surprise IT IS ALL ANALOGUE for analogue receivers, WILL THERE BE INTERFERENCE?

There would be horrible interference in that scenario Probably enough to destroy both the analogue & digital transmissions. This is why the frequencies are normally kept about 20MHZ apart and on alternate polarities
