My System: 75e-75w C & KU, 36v h-h /36v & diseqc actuators / diseqc -USALS motors / Anlg to HD Channel Masters C120s dishes, stb's inc echo3000, lnbs, meters, custom polar mounts & elevation/incline actuator conversions...
Question Which analogue stbs didn't blank the screen between TPs

Does anyone know which of the older analogue receivers didn't blank the screen (to blue or black etc.) between analogue tps (or gives you a display on/off option that stopped it blanking the noise).

and allowed you to manually scan through the whole band rather than just type a TP's frequency.

cheers..

My old Echostar SR50 had a rotary tuner that scanned the IF band in one continuous swoop . A nice big flywheel knob - one quick turn and you covered from bottom IF to top in one second

I can remember a dial tuner stb ... a real old old yank jobby... I think you had to press a button to swap from H to V

It doesn't have to be quite that old - just a press pg+/- or vol+/- to go up /down the frequency.

Thanks for the replies.. there's a funny button press to do it on some stbs that were mass re-branded at the time ... can't do it on a hidden button press on an echostar 3000 can you ...?

if i remeber right old philiphs analouge receivers, has also a blusceen!
but most 100 hz tvs swtich off, during a channels search, when picture does not syncroneize, also not every osd is viewiable!
on old echtostar lt series, you see the osd not on every scart box,the signal that coming from chinch output was antother, but, every tv interprated this information of osd,in the moment of not synchroneizing pictures, not in the same way,on older 50 hz modell, was better for manual tune!

Thanks Turok.... .

...alll very good points there - especially the point that many TVs blank if there is no sync... we probably already tried one and the TV blanked it instead .

Pace MSS 500ip also shows fuzzyness between transponders, has option in menu for blue screen or off.

It also lets you scan through all the frequencys.
