My System: 1m dish currently pointing at 5 degrees W to get French channels |
I just bought (off Ebay When I connect up the analogue box, I get pictures, not too speckly from the couple of channels I've tried so far, but NO SOUND, just a hissing. So, is there some reason this might be happening - LNB skew, alignment, cabling, or something else; or is my receiver busted ? Any ideas, I'd be grateful (hope I've not just wasted £2.20 on the box :-) ) Andy

Most analogue receivers come with 7.02-7.20 (stereo) as default so try changing the audio settings.

| Or the receiver has a modulator set to PAL G, and the UK TVs are all PAL I. Using a SCART lead should over come this. | ||

My System: 1m dish currently pointing at 5 degrees W to get French channels | Thanks for the advice. The box is connected through a scart lead, and I've also tried the seperate audio outputs, same results. I'll have a play this afternoon to see if I can find the audio setting and change the audio setup to the right frequency. I'll let you know how I get on - no manual for the box.... Cheers Andy

Well, it wasn't easy, given that my German is about 25 years out of date, but I managed to find a pdf manual and decipher it enough to find how to set the audio to the right frequency, and mono. That worked a treat, thanks guys. Andy
