My System: WinXP/Firefox 85cm Transparent dish and 3 dual LNB's 13,19,28 One diseqc to Sky Star 2, and a diseqc to TM1500. Plus a loop from the TM1500 to a Pace MSS100 analog sat receiver.
Test of your memory

My well loved Pace MSS 100 has died. Aaargh
I've got another. Hooray
Its even older, its very dusty, theres no remote, but it works.

It works using the settop buttons BUT my remote doesnt integrate with it.
Is there a procedure to make the remote work the receiver?

If you have enough experience and a small set of tools, you could try changing the front panel for the old one. Check the connectors are the same for both before going ahead with the swopout though (and disconnect from the mains a day or so beforehand, just in case).

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

Sorry friend, but thats not the solution.
There is no front panel to swop over.
Having taken off the cover the on/off, up and down switches, and the
red green led lights are all fixed onto the motherboard and are intact,
so I put the cover back. Perhaps you were remembering another model.

My System: 80cm dish, Pace MSS500 (analog) 19e 1m dish, SG-100 motor, Dark Gold 0.1. Pace MSP 200, Humax F1 VACI

Hi Dardruba,

You either need a Pace MSS remote or a Prima RC-10 remote depending how old the receiver is. Para 10 explains how to determine which remote you need from looking at the 'big 4 pin chip' inside.

Para 9 also describes how to determine how old the receiver is.

Theres the answer. Thank You
Mine was a newer model and uses the Prima RC10 remote.
The one I've bought is older and needs a MSS remote which the seller didnt have.

Which leaves me with a quandary.
I only need it for Eurosport in English on 19E (for viewing XC skiing and mountain biking) and provided there is no transponder change I can run it until analogue sat closes.
But if I do something stupid (quite likely) and lose the tp info then I've no way to adjust it.

Or I could give the 2 receivers to the techie and ask if he could find the fault in my nonworking newer receiver and perhaps use a part from the older working receiver I've just bought.

I used to repair analogue receivers long time ago. Not sure you can still get a psu rebuilt kit for those now but the two should use a fairly similar SMPS design and components.

It was a suggestion only, I have no experience of the internals of later Pace receivers, rejecting the brand from my recommendations after witnessing many preventable defects within the earlier models.

No guarantees here m8 ...but I do have a drawer full of old ..mainly TV remotes accumilated over many years ..
Can you find and post a picture of the remote you need ?
I'll take a look through my collection for you..

Failing that ..I may be able to fix your old receivers psu if you want to risk sending it to me ..

For one moment I thought you'd cracked it for me.
Unfortunately on the web page the list of receivers for that remote does
not mention this old MSS100, but I'll mail them to ask.
Thanks
