Can I recieve channels from all Astra on 19.2E if I could recieve one?+Radio question

Hello,
The equipment I'm going to use has been up for a while and have not
been used for about four years. I know that I used Astra 1 or Astra 1b
(among others TV3 Sweden), do you think I'll be able to use the other
Astra sattelittes at 19.2E (analouge) (eg. 1c, 1e, 1h)? I'm planning to use it to receive radio channels.

Do you think I can recieve ADR (Astra Digtal Audio I think it's called) on a standard analogue reciever?

Best Regartds

All the Astra 1's are co-located and the newer birds use the older frequencies so yes to your first question.

You cannot listen to ADR on a normal analogue receiver.

ADR is a dead duck anyway - its fading fast (if its still going) It was being run down fast last I heard

Hmm heres the wikipedia entry for ADR

Astra Digital Radio (ADR) is a system used by SES Astra for digital radio transmissions on their Astra 1 satellites, using the audio subcarrier frequencies of analogue television channels. It was introduced in 1995. As of 2006, a small number of services still transmit in this format.

The format uses one mono audio subcarrier, which would normally be allocated to an additional sound track or radio station, or half of a stereo sound track/station. The carrier is digitally modulated, and carries a 192 kbit/s, 48 kHz sampled Musicam encoded signal. 9.6 kbit/s is available for data.

Special receivers are required to listen to ADR stations, although some combined analogue/digital satellite boxes as well as later normal analogue boxes are equipped to decode it.

ADR is incompatible with DVB-S, although DVB-S digital radio stations are also transmitted using Musicam and generally at the same bitrates. As a result, when the final analogue switch-off on the Astra 1 satellites occurs, ADR will become obsolete. However, SES Astra state that 12.2 million homes, almost entirely in Germany, still use their analogue services and does not expect an analouge switchoff to happen until 2010

Hello,
OK, I've found a few radio station that didn't mention ADR. Could you please read the though and say if it's ADR or if I can recieve them with an ordinary analogue reciever (if it's possible for you to see by looking at them)? I would really apprechiate it.

RTL Radio:
Satelliten - Astra 1a
Frequenz - Tonträger von Super RTL (11.391 GHz) und VOX (11.273 GHz)
Kanal - analog 7,74/7,92 (SuperRTL) und 7,38 /7,56 (VOX) MHZ
Polarisation - horizontal
Sound - stereo

Klassik Radio:
- 12.515 GHz H. Symb.Rate 22.000 FEC 5/6
- Audio PID (dec) 126
- SID (dec) 4030
- Kwaliteit is 192 kbit/s

RTL FM:
Satellit: Astra 1F 19,2° Ost Transponder 5
Downlinkfrequenz: 11.273 GHz
Polarisation: horizontal
Audiokanäle: 7,74/7,92 MHz
Tonunterträger: VOX

And by the way, with and ordinary digital receiver, can I recieve all digital radio stations?

Thanks in advance (and thanks for your previous reply),
Best Regards

Any ordinary digital receiver will allow you to listen to any free to air radio channels

Klassik Radio:
- 12.515 GHz H. Symb.Rate 22.000 FEC 5/6
- Audio PID (dec) 126
- SID (dec) 4030
- Kwaliteit is 192 kbit/s

This is a digital service and unavailable to an analogue box. The other 2 are analogue

Hello,
OK, thanks for your reply.
I found a list of analogue channels, among others Eurosport germany and CNN International was listed on it, are those channels free (no subscription)? I've heard that it's possible to also recieve Eurosport in english for free with an analogue reciever, where can I find it's frequence?

Those I've found are availiable at: http://www.selkirkshire.demon.co.uk/analoguesat/intro.html .
