I can't see why you would need such a receiver - you are surely going to feed it to a TV equipped with an analogue tuner anyway?

Or do you have some other arrangement in mind?

My System: astra receiver

Dear Llew,

i want to use such receiver for my PLASMA monitor. the problem is, i can use two pieces and two remote controls for both the sat. and the TV and i want to use only one remote control and one receiver to do the job.
my monitor does not have internal TV tuner. only some input ports such as s-video and scart

Hi hossam_s,

Yes, I understand. I don't know of such a receiver; there would possibly be very little demand for one ( cost of designing a receiver with two separate digital/terrestial analogue demodulation/output paths etc. for such a small customer base).

Maybe I'm mistaken and there are such receivers: let us know if you eventually find one.

Sounds like a good case for a multi media PC; then you can add analogue, digi terrestrial and satellite as required. Plus the added bonus of being able to record programs and maybe being better matched to your plasma?

Get a 2GHZ or better PC ; most recent graphics card have TV out. Hauppauge PVR 150 for analogue TV, Twinhan DTV-S for digi satellite plus a suitable app and there you have it.....Your very own personal video recorder. You could try XP Media centre or one of many others.; e.g.GBPVR which is free. Try searching on HTPC (home theatre PC) and have a look at byopvr.com (build your own PVR)

I have a rather recent pc- pentium 4 3.06Ghz, nvidia n6600 with a 19 inch LG monitor, ac3 /5.1 sound, and a skystar2 card which in 2 words is a satellite reciever for pc. Works awsome!
