Echostar SR-8700 bust?

Does anyone have an online manual regarding the above receiver?

The receiver itself comes on shows the typical analogue squiggeled lines, on the receiver itself the LCD just shows a small vertical line, but the remote doesn't seem to want to do anything yet i know the remote is sending signals.

Is there a typical if this breaks replace this webpage?

Thanks

Don't know the reason for a vertical line, memory may be lost if it's been out of action for more than a year.

Doubt if there's anything online for it, unfortunately my remote is in need of repair, using an AD3000ip with restricted codes for the 8700.

I have a manual, 44 pages of closely-typed print, could upload a few pages if you like, may have to be after Xmas though.

That would be great Llew if you would.

I'll do some searching for firmware and such a little later, scaffolding to get down today.

Looks like maybe the LCD is borked, a few other characters came up but nothing meaning full.

No serial connector so little chance of firmware update.

Only thing i can find on the internet is about replacing resistors for power supply failure. and a service manual for $15.

I'll keep on looking.

Download the Echostar LT8700 user manual from here - it's similar to the SR8700 apart from the RS232 connectability and UHF remote facilities.
