RE: ITV DIGITAL FILED FOR ADMINISTRATION

Don't be so pessimistic.
Turns out that certain OD boxes can be easily modified to act as stream-hacked satellite receivers. Funnily enough, this is especially easy on the one I own, which I'm willing to sell for just 300 of your Earth pounds.

RE: ITV DIGITAL FILED FOR ADMINISTRATION

Im not a pessimist, its just one company on the UK terrestrial platform. The others will have to evolve though to retain the viewers (maybe two monkeys for each box sold)

47 boxes have already arrived on E-bay as of 5.30 pm - not many with reserves, these are the pessimists.

With a simple change of front end and some software tweaks, anything is possible. A number of manufacturers have been using this modular route for a while now

DVB-T boxes are already coming in from the Far East so the market will be saturated soon with far more user friendly machinery

What this latest news will affect is
1)Pace and others hoping to launch half finished units as from next month.
2) Stand occupation at Mediacast
3) The general take up on decent TV aerials in this country
4) Staffing at the broadcast sites
5) Moral in this industry in general
