ITV renting 3 TPs at 28.2E

"3 new ITV transponders have been added to Sky’s information tables (these are hidden) at 10.832Ghz H, 10.891Ghz H and 10.906Ghz V (all 22000, 5/6) at 28.2° East. ITV rented these transponders direct from Astra. The suggestion is that ITV are targeting November the 26th to launch their channels on sky digital although we have no confirmation, as yet, from ITV executives. All 16 “ITV1” variants will be available to homes with sky digital."

Information taken from SCCI.co.uk news page

This also coincides with the switch off of the last Sky analogue channels which happened (or at least should have) on the 28th of September

RE: ITV renting 3 TPs at 28.2E

Hi Rolf,

According to the Guardian - SKY analogous switch-off happened today (i'm posting late).

I imagine, now, that there will be an enquiry (by the press) to find out how many anally-retentive subscriber's (or Irish Bars in Berlin) are currently pissed - because they can't see nowt.

As for ITV, I wish I could join in the party on the 26/11/01 (if you have the transponder's - you might at least be doing some testing :-)

Might fly over to London for that one. I could have a Yorkshire/Granada/TTTV party at my friends house; marvellous :-)

Have Fun,

Mark.
