Despeately need help setting up equipment

Please can someone help me?

I have a 32" LG TV, a Philips DVD Recorder, NTL box and Sky box.
I want to use the DVDR with HDD to record off my NTL, and just want the sky for general viewing (has extra Asian channels for my dad to watch).

Is this possible to do? or do i have to ditch and get rid of the Sky Box?

my TV has 2 HDMI connections and 2 scart sockets
DVDR has 1 HDMI (out) and 2 scarts
NTL has 2 scarts
Sky has 2 scarts

Help will be so much appreciated, as this is beginning to worry and depress me (considering the amount of cash this cost me!)

There are a few options that should work, try one of these

Connect the NTL box to the DVDR with scart
Connect the sky box the tv with scart (if the sky box has hdmi use it)
Connect the DVDR to the tv with hdmi

Connect the NTL and Sky box the DVDR using scart
Connect the DVDR to the tv using hdmi

The second option will let you record both NTL and Sky, but i'm not sure if the DVDR will output a "live" channel from both boxes. I suppose it will, give it a go.

When people ask me what I think, I tell them: "I think all of the meat around the pig's ass is pork."
