My System: Sony kdl40w5500 | Hi, I just bought a sony kdl40w5500 tv and a humax freesat hd box, tried to connect the hdmi cable from freesat box to tv HDMI 1, when I press tv control to HDMI 1, no picture was showed, only black screen, then I use scart cable instead, it's works fine, so what have I done wrong? Or I need to change the setting on freesat box and TV or some problem with my tv and freesat box? Please Please give me some ideal, becsue I though my sony tv would automatic detect the HDMI signal? ![]()

You'll need to have the HDMI lead connected when changing the output whilst still connected via your scart lead, or you'll most likely have another blank screen. Llew

| Try powering down everything and starting again from scratch, I have heard of a lot of Humax boxes failing to provide TV outputs straight out of the box. Sounds like a faulty lead, but it could be a faulty input on the TV, only trying another HDMI source will give you the answer. | ||
