Can I use a Sky+HD box with a non-HD TV?

sounds daft I know....but we do not have an HD TV (will get one in the future but not yet)

However our Sky box is about 10 years old and needs to be updated.

The best Sky box offer for existing customers is actually for the Sky+HD box so it makes sense to go for this option but I need assurance that it will work with a non-HD TV (I know we won't be able to watch the HD channels)

many thanks

My System: Sky+ and Technomate TM5400 CI+ presently connected to Sky dish. Planning to install Penta 85 aluminium dish with TM-2300 motor & Invacom SNH-031 LNB.

But wont this mean you will have to pay an additional monthly fee, even though you can't use HD?

It may be wise to consider a replacement standard box....plenty of new & used available on Ebay!

Certainly Sky+ is worth upgrading to but why pay for what you cannot use?

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

You can use an HD box without the HD premium, just that you won't get the subscription HD channels, only the FTA and FTV HD ones along with your standard package channels.
