Recording subtitles

How do I record on VHS a programme with subtitles(usually in the teletext mode). I find the text is never recorded.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

I'm not sure that you can, as the teletext is overlaid by the TV, whether you could try it from the scart out on the TV is another matter, but I don't think that it would work.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

I don't think VHS has enough definition to record teletext - it didn't work properly when I tried a few years go. Possible an S-VHS recorder might although I haven't got one to try.

Yes - a Super VHS VCR at 500 lines will recorder the Teletext lines at the top and allow you to watch them on play back.

You can still find them - JVC did a cheap recorder - VHS is a dying format I'm afraid.

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

S-VHS usually forms the video half of a video/dvd combi. They are still being produced.
