Speaker wiring?

right here is a good puzzle

instead of having seperate speakers for everything in the lounge i decided to wire everything to the 5.1 system

now the only thing that is real 5.1 is the DVD player, so obviously the rest will just use the speakers as normal

whats the best way to do this, without spending a fortune on a fancy box.

its a case of 4 outputs going into 1!! see pic

it could be 5, if i decided to add the Xbox... but i wont lol

i might be wrong but.....
i think your going from the wrong end..
ie i think you would use this if you had 2 speakers and one output, from device audio from both speakers would be the same (i think)

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

What's the AV amp? And the stereo amp?

I connect the Dreambox to the amp using optical, DVD using digital coax. Depending on your stereo and the AV amp you can take the pre-outs from the AV amp into your stereo amp e.g. your stereo amp runs your front speakers.

Your question is now a month old - did you sort everything out?

All I would ask is surely your 5.1 AV AMP has sufficient inputs. mhku has the right idea All you have figure is how to re-use all those previously seperate speakers and where they should all live. [I use 5amp flex - bi-wired]

Have Fun.

You'll have some shortage of sound because does things are not made for professional HI-FI sets. They are for computer outputs or discmans, though you'll have the same problem there. Specially for PCs.
