Big telly

i am looking at buying a new TV

my 42" Back Projection Toshiba is 6 years old now.

i fancy upgrading if i buy a HD telly, i can order a HD sky box (i need a new one anyway since my sky+ went pop )

i went into the local Comet last night and had a look round, some nice TVs but whats the best to get?
was thinking 50", 52" or 55"

i noticed there is a big difference in Pixel Resolution on them all from some at 640x480 up to some at 1920x1080 does this make a big difference to the picture?? i couldnt tell in store...

(why is it that a place that sells TVs always have a crap arial/picture)

what spec is the thing i need to look at most

oh and something i did notice, some TVs judder/stutter and jerk when panning i dont want one like that!!!

i am a firm believer of you get what you pay for... so if the telly i get costs £4000 then im OK with that, if its value for money compared to the other choices available.

because thats another confusion i have?

i see some TVs for £999 and they dont look any different to ones at £3,999?

It was probably LCD, the bigger you go the more screen drag you get.

Go for a plasma, if your going big
