Why can't I see 12151H listed on lyngsat even though it's active ?

Hi,

What channels are you getting on it?

I just did a scan and I'm getting the channels associated with 12148H.


I think 12151H is not a feasible transponder as it is too close in frequency to 12148H and the same polarity.

Has your receiver just got the frequency a few MHz out, mine comes up with 12150H on a blind scan for 12148H.

I'm just using a Pace 2600 and keying the freq. It comes up with a couple of SKY sports news, a couple of sky spts xtra, sci fi, sp news, sky sports1, eurosport2 uk, hallmark, s1 test, paracomedy2. So yes it does look *exactly* like tp23. Actually I'm getting tp23 channels anywhere from 12130H up to 12165H incl. Signal quality and strength drop off the further away from 12148h I go.
Does all this actually say anything about anything ? like receiver quality/ accuracy ?

No - its just the automatic frequency tuning coming into play. Any digital receiver will tune into a strong signal a few khz away from its designated scan frequency

I have noticed my TM is nearly always 1 MHz out, and sometimes 2MHz, but never as much as that. Maybe it's just a peculiarity of a Sky box, that it can be so wide, perhaps it autotunes somehow.

If it autotuned then I would expect quality and strength to be the same regardless of the freq. But I notice them both reduced.

Which is exactly what you would expect. 12148 is the centre frequency for that particular transponder - the further you get away from the centre frequency the weaker the carrier will become. Once you get well away from it you may also start to get cross polarisation interference from the frequencies either side
