UKTV goes widescreen

You may remember that last year we asked you if you'd like us to start broadcasting in widescreen. Well, we've had an overwhelmingly positive response and have some good news for you.

From Thursday 31st January, all 9 UKTV channels will be capable of broadcasting in widescreen. Due to our extensive back catalogue, we can't broadcast every programme in widescreen immediately, but we'll be increasing our library throughout 2008. This means you'll be able to see some great Hollywood blockbusters, the best of classic BBC shows and UKTV's exclusive new content the way it was meant to be seen - in widescreen.

But don't worry about our older programmes. We won't mess around with them and will continue to show them in the original format they were filmed in.
