My System: Intel(R)Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz 2.13 GHz, 0.99GB of RAM, 160GB HDD Panasonic Digibox, 2.6m Fibre Glass Dish, SKY Card (Family Pack)
Cyprus (Larnaca) Sky Viewer, wants more channels

I'm a complete novice.

I have a Panasonic digibox with a pay to view Sky Card which I purchased through germansky.com for use in Cyprus.

The Default Transponder is set on 12110 H tp Astra 28E

I had until recently a 1.3m fixed dish which I have changed for a Fixed 3m dish which gave me some better reception and some more channels. I subscribe to the Sky Family Package and get the following:
Sky 1
Ch 5
Sky News, CNN, Algazeera, France24, BBC Parliament (which I use to access BBC 24 through the RED Button)
Bravo
UKTV (Gold, History, Discovery, Living etc)
Sci-Fi (intermittently)

I have seen the 'Add Channels' and 'Manual Tuning' in the menu list and feel I must be able to tune into some other channels out there not covered by Sky and emanating from Atra 28E

Am I right? and how do I do it.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

No you arent right - theres almost nothing operating off the epg these days. 2 or 3 channels testing in preparation for launch, a couple of colour bar testcards and thats about it.

If you want more channels you probably need a a bigger dish!

Thanks and what's an EPG?

So manual tuning to 12207V, 11778V or 12441V isn't going to give me anything different then?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Well there are parts of Cyprus, where a 3m dish will get you some of the Astra 2D channels, but I guess that yours isn't one of them.

http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...-size-map.html

As a rule, if the box won't tune to the channel automatically, then you won't get it. There are a couple of exceptions though and these are where there are local/different versions of channels, which aren't in your card region, but can be tuned to in the other channels section.

The local Cyprus members will be able to enlighten you if there are any available to your sized dish.

Well
12207V is various versions of Sky News
11778V is the Music Choice service
12441V is the BBC interactive services - which sky digiboxes cant tune into as they are flagged as data services and the box ignores then!

SO no - those frequencies arent going to give you anything useful.

You can tune to E4 manually on 11.565V,because you can't get it on epg number 136.
Do you get BBC and ITV where you are?
